Gary Mervis, 2016 GBM Hero and founder of Camp Good Days and Special times, Inc., discusses the need for research in the field of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

Besides the actual brain tumor, patients with GBM also deal with other neurological problems, which can affect the whole family. To ensure that no family goes through brain cancer alone, Mervis established the camp, where families can come together and support one another.

Also, Mervis believes that "it's about time we stand up and put cancer on the front burner." He hopes that one day, he will no longer have to attend funerals of people who died from the disease.
