What I do at CURE: Editor-in-chief, composing editorials, reviewing medical content, and developing a rich and meaningful portfolio for all CURE publications.
Something Iām proud of: Our CURE team, as well as my colleagues at PER, who possess the talent, creativity, and drive to fulfill our mission of education physicians and the public in order to improve the lives of all those with cancer.
My passion: Knowledge. Whether it is discovering a new gene involved in drug resistance or imparting useful information to a patient and family struggling to make a difficult treatment decision ā knowledge empowers us all.
What I enjoy about working my work: Debate and discussions ā moving myself and others to new points of view through facts and interpretations.
What I enjoy away from CURE: Playing keyboards and guitar, and international cuisine
Profile: Dr. Tripathy received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, and completed an internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. After a clinical fellowship in hematology and oncology, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Cancer Research Institute, University of California at San Francisco. He served on the faculty at the UCSF then as professor of internal medicine and director of the Komen/UT Southwestern Breast Cancer Research Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas where his clinical and research interests focused on growth factor receptor-targeted therapy. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association of Cancer Research, American Association for the Advancement of Science, is Past President of the American Society of Breast Diseases and Past President of the Society for Integrative Oncology. Currently, Dr. Tripathy is Co-Leader of the Women's Cancer Program at Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Professor of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He also serves on the editorial boards of several oncology-related journals.
