AN ENGINEER'S VIEW

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer 25 years ago at the same time as a diagnosis of CLL. Since then I have had two more cancers, prostate and lung. I'm still going strong in my 80's. I do have a problem with the bladder cancer. At least 4 times each year I have a day surgery cystoscopy and removal of any new "buds" in my bladder. I have had so many of these procedures, enough to cause the removal of the little valves at the opening of each uretor. This allows urine to backup into the kidneys and has resulted in a diagnosis of stage 3 chronic kidney failure. In order to keep my kidneys from further damage I have an indwelling cathetor, apparently for the rest of my days. As a retired engineer I can't believe that pieces and parts of the heart can be replaced or repaired and two simple "flapper valves" cannot be replaced in my bladder. I can self cath, but I would have to do so every hour and a half, 24 hours a day, forever. Any ideas?
