In the Summer 2010 I was diagnosed with this very rare sarcoma. DFSP stands for dermatfibrosarcom protuberans. I have a varient called DFSP-FS. That means fibrsarcomtus changes have taken place in my tumor. My tumor was on my arm just below my elbow on my thumb side. I had 3 surgeries to remove it all taking muscle and facia as well as scraping bone. I have some minor damage in my hand and arm as a result. I was perturbed by the lack of info about this disease that I created a website for it. https://sites.google.com/site/dfspresourcepage/home I want and my friends who have suffered terible disfigurement from this disease want people to know about this cancer. The only way research can happen is if people have heard of the disease and it seem very few folks have heard of ours. I have been told if mine comes back it will be in 5 years and if it's above my scarline in my elbow joint I will lose my dominant arm. I was not given rads due to the risk to the joint even though my margin was very tight. I already have developed arthritis in the joint and it would make it worse. TY all
