Was your cancer journey affected by your faith or spirituality?

What did you think about "Keeping the Faith" in CURE's spring 2010 issue? Did faith or spirituality impact your cancer journey or a loved one's?

My faith in God has always been strong. When I was diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer 5 yrs ago, the journey through surgery, chemo and a couple additional unplanned for surgeries had its toll.
My faith was not tested, but I found that my faith deepened and my times with the Lord in prayer and contemplation became more precious and profound. That experience has made me a better man and my faith has continued to deepen. The results of the deeper faith and relationship with God has poured over into my everyday life @ home, @ work and with family, friends as well as with strangers. I can truly say that my Cancer Diagnosis was a GIFT from God and It has made me a better man. Respectfully: Joseph-Bernard Snyder
