RE: CURE's survivorship supplement: Surviving Well. What do you think?

I am excited that this will be coming with my Fall issue. The hospitals are just now beginning to adopt survivorship programs. It is such a great concept and very much needed area of assistance. I just learned last week that about 75% of survivors are not given "regular" healthcare as far as physicals, check-ups, etc but instead their care only focuses on cancer and related side effects from the cancer and its treatment.
Thanks again for coming through!

For 18 years I have been an ovarian cancer survivor. I schedule my own CA 125 tests, CT scans (since the CA 125 is not useful for my case) and chest x-rays. We must be proactive in our own health picture! A yearly physical with blood work is essential, too. Looking forward to the survivorship supplement.

It's so good to finally have this way to communicate with all of you. We know you are out there but now we can hear from you directly. I have always felt so lucky to be able to take my cancer experience and DO something with it by working here at CURE. To each of you, keep on keeping on and spreading the word and your joy at living. Kathy LaTour, CURE magaizne.

I, too, am thankful and grateful for this new opportunity to talk with survivors about our common problems. Philip

ON SURVIVORSHIP .... We hold each other together. We hold each other up. I call it "list love".
