Sleep disorders after treatment

In the upcoming Spring issue, CURE will be highlighting sleep disorders, specifically in survivors who have completed treatment but who continue to have difficulties sleeping, including insomnia, waking throughout the night, sleep apnea, etc. Did you have sleep issues after cancer and did anything help?

RE: Sleep disorders after treatment

Had and still have insomnia issues 6 years later. Sleep studies also showed I don't sleep "correctly", I don't go into the dream state. Ambien and ativan weren't a good fix, but good old melatonin was the answer for me. I started out on a fairly high dose a few years ago and am now down to 9mg.

I also have sleep disorder issues I take Ambien it helps but still feel tired in the morning.
I am 6 years out of treatment-work full time and am exhausted at the end of the work day -I need to take a Scooby nap when I get home.
