Cancer is a journey that begins with the words, "it's malignant." The need for information follows the patient throughout the experience, from the day of diagnosis, through treatment and on to recovery. CURE Media Group covers the entire cancer continuum, beginning with a resource guide for the newly diagnosed and ending with ongoing coverage of the long-term survivor in CURE magazine's department Healing Well.
Below are the CURE products that span the cancer continuum:
CURE Resource Guide
CURE subscribers first receive a Cancer Resource Guide, created in 2007 and updated annually, it's the introduction to cancer that every patient needs with an overview of the journey and articles on what to expect, a glossary, resources, and other important information.
CURE Magazine
CURE Magazine, a free, quarterly publication, has articles that take the cancer patient through the journey - from diagnosis, through treatment and into recovery. Each issue has articles on the latest treatments as well as information of interest to patients who are newly diagnosed, in treatment, ending treatment and out of treatment.
CURE Patient & Survivor Forum
For those who want to talk to other survivors and ask questions of the experts there is the CURE Patient & Survivor Forum, a live meeting where cancer survivors from all over the country gather with their caregivers in a major city to hear from thought leaders on the latest developments in cancer treatments. In addition, attendees meet in small breakouts to discuss a number of psychosocial issues of importance to the cancer journey and have opportunities to network with other survivors during the 2-day event.
CURE Day of Caring Breast Cancer Forum
Breast Cancer Survivors have their own forum in May when the CURE Day of Caring Breast Cancer Forum in Denver, Colorado, brings more than 600 breast cancer survivors for a two-day event that includes a fashion show by local survivors and breakouts of specific importance to breast cancer survivors and their caregivers.
CURE Survivorship Guide
The CURE Survivorship Guide, which will premiere in early 2009, provides those who have ended treatment an overview of the issues and concerns that are critical to healthy survivorship, physically, mentally and emotionally with a focus on the emotional and physical changes experienced by most cancer patients when treatment ends.
Curetoday.com
Curetoday.com provides hours of information on the cancer journey - from stories on the journey to in-depth information on the latest treatments. Readers will find all of CURE's back issues archived here as well as information on other aspects of cancer.
Extraordinary Healer Award
To celebrate nurses, CURE created the Extraordinary Healer Award in 2007, asking CURE readers to nominate a nurse working in oncology who went above and beyond to help them heal. Three finalists from the essays are flown to the Oncology Nursing Society annual congress where, before some 800 nurses the essays are read and the winner announced.
The best essays are compiled into a book, Extraordinary Healers, CURE Readers Honor Oncology Nurses, that introduces readers to these extraordinary healers with provoking photography and heart felt essays.
CURE Media Group will continue to create products and events that help educate, empower, and connect individuals at every stage of the cancer journey.
