FORCE

FORCE improves the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. FORCE provides support, education, and programs to help those facing hereditary breast and ovarian cancer know their healthcare options and make informed decisions. The organization is the de facto leader in guiding critical research and policy issues that impact the hereditary breast cancer and ovarian cancer community.
A breast cancer survivor and hereditary cancer expert discussed how patients can find accurate information about genetic mutations.
Sue Friedman, founder and executive director of FORCE, discussed how a breast cancer diagnosis at age 33 and a family history of cancer led to the creation of Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered.
A call to action—We all need to do our part to combat fake or inaccurate health news. Misinformation about any health topic is troubling and potentially dangerous.
This week, we spoke with FORCE to dispel some of the misconceptions associated with at-home genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk.
There is a flood of information available about genetic tests for cancer risk in the media, and even at community events, such as health fairs and senior centers. If these promotions have caught your attention and you are considering testing, there is important information that you should know first.

The program XRAYS is a resource to help patients, survivors and their loved ones make sense of the articles on hereditary cancer they see in the mainstream media and via social media platforms.
XRAYS aims to be "a reliable resource designed to help young breast cancer survivors and high-risk women navigate through breast cancer research related news and information."
Rebecca Sutphen discusses the importance of connecting patients with clinical trials.
Sue Friedman, Executive Director, FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered), discusses the ABOUT Network and the importance of informed decision-making.
