Finding Connection and Expert Advice Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic

Video

The COVID-19 pandemic has cut out many face-to-face interactions, and for patients with cancer that can also mean a loss of connection to expert advice. But the team behind the Belong.Life app is looking to bridge the gap patients face during social distancing.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect patients with cancer in the United States and around the world, many are not only looking for advice as information evolves rapidly, but also for connection as social distancing measures continue to extend. This is where Dr. Daniel Vorobiof hopes the Belong.Life app can step in.

Dr. Vorobiof is the chief medical director with Belong.Life, which is the world’s largest social network for patients with cancer and caregivers, They can use the free app anonymously to connect with other patients, caregivers and health care professionals throughout their cancer journey.

Vorobiof and his team are now looking to use this platform to provide COVID-19 support groups. This will allow patients to connect and find the expert advice they need amid social distancing measures.

Dr. Vorobiof spoke with CURE® about how the Belong.Life app is supporting patients and offered his own advice for those who may be looking for guidance during the ever-shifting news the pandemic brings.

Check back later for more coverage from Dr. Vorobiof’s interview.
