Freda shares her unique story as a “healthcare professional turned patient.” Also joining the discussion are, Dr John Marshall, of Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Dr G. Freda Omaswa discusses which symptoms led her to testing and a diagnosis of metastatic colon cancer, and explains what it was like shifting from the role of a doctor to a patient. Dr. John Marshall discusses what it is like working with a patient like Freda who has a background in medicine.
After a 19-month battle with metastatic colon carcinoma, Freda passed away quietly in her sleep on February 1, 2016.
