I'm wondering if any forum members might have suggestions or similar problems. After BCG treatments, I've been in remission for 2 years. The treatments and my original tumor have damaged my bladder to the point where I have frequency of urination and sometimes retention. An enlarged prostate, even after TURP surgery, assists in causing retention or hesitancy. Toviaz and Myrbetriq also cause retention, so the urologist, my PCP, and myself are leery about trying Botox or what he calls "the bladder cocktail" as any retention they might cause would be irreversible for awhile. I am currently on Flo-Max after my last retention difficulty, but still experiencing hesitancy; and (I guess due to my prostate) it takes a lengthy time to completely void my bladder. Sometimes urination is painful (I apologize for being graphic)especially deep inside where it feels like a painful o-shaped pressure prior to voiding. (Since having cancer I've had sensations I've never felt before in places inside of me that I never even knew existed)! I'm taking Dr. Lamb's prescribed vitamins, only cautiously starting in much smaller dosages; in other words, I found a pre-school vitamin with the same prescription. I also take fish oil. Because I'm on the interstitial cystitis diet, I've had to stop drinking green tea and I need to avoid other foods that potentially fight cancer; a month ago I began using Pre-Relief to allow me to ingest acid containing foods, but after my latest retention, I'm waiting to discuss continuing this with my urologist and PCP next week. Another clincher, I have type II diabetes; I'm wondering if this holistically plays into the picture. Any suggestions would be helpful.
