I was diagnosed with metastatic disease in 2008 and have been on anastrozole ever since. So far I have high blood pressure which has been successfully treated. I have some loss of bone density, but I am still only borderline osteopenic. My doctor started me on Prolia last year as a preventive measure. In my judgment (and that of my doctor) going off the anastrozole poses greater risk than the risks of staying on it. I assume I will continue to take it until it stops working or until I die of something else.
