It's just as much a shock when you get breast cancer a second time on the other side. Or in my case breast cancer on one side, then the other side 7 years later along with follicular non-hodgkin's lymphoma in the same year. The other thing I found that a cancer with no cure is qualitatively different from having cancers that are potentially curable. Also had a few basel cell skin cancers. They don't even count in my book anymore. The entire cancer gigs suck.
