I very much relate to this article and struggle with it every day. I was diagnosed with a metastasis in January 2014 and to date have been relatively "healthy" on the outside - no one can see the various mets all over my body, liver, lungs...but of all things external, I have my hair. I love looking good but when I complain about a doctors appointment or needing help with a carpool, I think other mothers assume I'm getting my hair or nails done...my middle school child's teacher said - I saw you the other day and thought you were cured. I wish there was better education about stage 4 so more money would help to find that cure that has yet to appear....thanks for sending your story!
I too relate to this article. More often than not I am asked, "when will you be done with your treatment?" And I respond, with a deadpan look (no pun intended), "when I'm dead." I mean, what else can you say?
