View Original Post As someone who cared for a mother with Stage 4 breast cancer who also had dementia, I appreciated when I could get any respite help so I could get out of the house to shop or even just to take a nap and not have to worry about her trying to do something she wasn\'t supposed to. I had help from hospice services 3 days/week, but the other days were mine alone and it was overwhelming at times. I took care of her for 6 months in my home when a bed became available for her in a nearby nursing home where I could visit her as often as I wanted. She passed away there June of 2015.\r\n
