I have breast cancer since 2010. I have had a mastectomy and reconstruction and then found breast cancer in the reconstructed breast and had that removed in 2018. Now I have only one breast. But I am not a victim. I am playing the game with the cards I have been dealt. And that is ok. I am very pro active in the medical decisions I have made and that is ok too. The doctors advised me to have 30 treatments of radiation last year and after 15 treatments I had awful side effects so I stopped radiation treatment. I am still here and for the most part feel great. I have taken letrozole for almost 2 years and hate the side effects and have to decide if it is something I want to continue when I see my oncologist in a couple of months. I had taken Ibrance for 3 months when I was diagnosed with breast cancer the second time and could not tolerate the drug and I am still here. I surround myself with family and grandchildren and I choose to be happy. I have no pain and I am happy to wake up every day.
