One of the interesting differences between chemo and radiation is that with chemo, you lose all hair (everywhere!) which seems to take some people by surprise that it's not just head hair. With radiation, you lose just the hair in the region that's been irradiated, and the loss may be temporary or permanent. I had salvage radiation to my pelvis for prostate cancer five years, and my pubic hair is still AWOL. Not obvious to a passerby, but in the locker room, you can sure look like a 10-year-old!
