An article in the current issue concerning the benefits of genetic testing lists as a benefit the opportunity to prevent cancer if testing indicates one has a BRCA gene mutation. Really? The author neglects to inform us how to accomplish this feat. In fact, in all my research and reading, I have never come across a single credible source that even suggests preventing cancer is a possibility. We all know about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which includes a good diet and exercise program and excludes smoking and drinking, but no one claims this will prevent cancer. I always thought that Cure was a reliable source of information, now I'm not so sure....
