Nicely said, Diana. Although my wife's circumstances were quite different, our hospice experience was quite similar. For me, that time period, which only lasted a few weeks, felt totally surreal. It was like going into another dimension. And, I did things to help take care of my wife that had previously been unimaginable. Only with the guidance of the dedicated hospice professionals and volunteers could I have mustered the strength to carry on and to give my wife what she so desperately needed in her final days. I know my wife fully appreciated how much the team gave of themselves to get us through this impossibly difficult time. And, I will be eternally grateful!

Thanks, David. I also believe that I did things that I could have never imagined myself doing. I will be writing a follow-up blog on some of the other aspects of hospice that weren't so neatly packaged. But overall, keeping my husband home with hospice care was the right decision for our family.

As a hospice volunteer, I deeply appreciate your blog. My role is to be as supportive as possible of families during an unbelievably difficult time. You are indeed strong, and you bring that strength with you every day you come to the WRLC.
