You absolutely must demand better communication. My first cancer MD was wonderful. When she retired I was assigned another who seemed uninterested. It shouldn't matter if my cancer was early stage or not. She should have shown me the same concern as every other patient. I have a current MD who doesn't talk to me other than to order tests. I finally demanded that he talk to me; tell me why he ordered tests & how they affected my treatment; what was he thinking. He reacted as he should & started explaining his treatment. I tell my friends, if you don't think your MD is taking adequate care of you, find someone else! I hope you find a caring physician.
