I fired my medical oncologist nearly two years ago because I didn't feel as though he was listening to me. My quality of life had diminished to the point of barely functional and I quit both him and the AI meds.
Unfortunately, the medical oncologist I have now isn't much better, but for different reasons. She's so busy I don't feel like there is anything personal about this medical relationship. The practice is just a "machine" it appears and I often have to see a NP. When I do insist on seeing the doctor, she has a glazed look and always seems to be in a rush, offering no advice or thought to what "care" is being prescribed.
May be time for another pink slip!
Is this the state of medicine these days? I don't want to think so - as my radiation oncologist and surgeon have both been great.
