I never felt like ending it all but the side effects even since 2009 have impacted my life as with many treatment side effects. As cancer survivors we all must face our "new normal." For me it is radiation fibrosis of my jaw, little saliva, impaired taste buds, and a swallowing disorder. Still grateful to be around. I just learned to adapt my diet to what I can handle. Masticating meat is so overrated. Spicy foods? Who needs 'em? Not being able to eat a hoagie sandwich or a hamburger? Nah, no big deal. I have learned to enjoy going out to a restaurant and ask for more, more sauce please. It's all good, really.
