Article Talk: Breast Cancer Patients and Previvors Face Tough Decisions

I have been a breast cancer survivor for 21 years. On my annual visit with my oncologist, she discovered a lump in the same breast where one was found 21 years ago. I had decided to have a lumpectomy with axillary dissection at that time, followed with chemo, radiation, and hormone therapy. My oncologist moved my annual Mammogram up and an ultrasound. It showed a suspicious area and recommended a biopsy. I'm scheduled to see a surgeon on Monday. I must decide if I want to have a double mastectomy if the biopsy is positive.
