This article hit a nerve with me. It mirrors what a counselor told me. I was having difficulty dealing with advanced prostate cancer and its subsequent treatment simultaneous with treatment from a major heart attack. I had acquired a colostomy and urostomy from the prostate surgery. There were many complications and additional surgeries and I saw nothing good in my future. The counselor told me that it was not unusual for people to go through the steps of grieving when they are new to a chronic health condition.
