I recently passed my 1 year anniversary for discovery of stage 1b estrogen/progesterone positive breast cancer in one breast with 2 positive lymph nodes. I'm trying to lose weight and have some additional suggestions. For exercise, try adding yoga. Yoga not only provides exercise, it also reduces stress. Stress makes me eat more. I suggest gentle yoga rather than the trendy stuff where you rush from one pose to another with a drill sergeant instructor.
