I was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma back in 1985. I was 24 years old then. The cancer was in my neck lymph nodes and was spreading down into my chest. They removed my spleen as a precaution and of course the affected lymph nodes in my neck. I then received 32 linear accelerator radiation treatments and never had a reoccurance of hodgkins. However, I since have had a double bypass heart surgery, now diabetic, Have a rare lung disease called cryptogenic organizing pneumonia and have had my aorta valve replaced with a mechanical one.
