Jen's points are valid. Perhaps the compelling reason I live alone with stage IV melanoma in the mountains of rural Colorado, thirty miles from the nearest stoplight, is the realization that no one will want to get involved in a relationship with someone who will soon die on them. Why not stay isolated? Minimize the pain for all.
I am 18 months post treatment, four doses of Yervoy/Opdivo. I get regular flareups of colitis requiring short bursts of prednisone. I don't think this is being tracked by anyone which is unfortunate. It seems that once the immune system is enhanced, the danger of autoimmune damage is ever present.
