Swimming to help lymphedema

So excited to read this article! I never knew swimming could help in lymphedema, but it makes sense. I recently had surgery to help control my lymphedema. The surgery is called Lymphaticovenous Anastomosis (LVA); also called Lymphovenous Bypass. Basically, lymph veins were connected to blood veins to assist in the lymph fluid being carried out of the affected limb. The surgery is not well known and offered in very few places. I had my surgery at the University of Iowa Hospital and the plastic surgeon was Dr. Wei Chen. I developed my lymphedema in 2001 after a mastectomy.
