I think it takes enormous courage to make such a decision. One has to face the inevitable while facing all those people who do not want to let go of you. I hope, too, that you have that courage. Being a two-time cancer survivor, I have already made the decision. I am at peace with it. I have had the heart-wrenching conversations with those closest to me to let them know early and often how they can support me going forward. As hard as those conversations are, I believe those "others" have appreciated my candor. Just make sure you have the living Will, Advanced Directive and Power-of-Attorney for healthcare in place and current.
