For this MPN Hero, helping patients came naturally, she said.

For Lori Jemison, RN helping patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) came naturally.

Jemison, who was recently honored by CURE as an MPN Hero, always knew that she wanted to be an oncology nurse, and now acts as the clinical coordinator for the malignant hematology team at Froedtert Hospital in Wisconsin. After working in the blood cancer space for over two decades, she realized that many patients still have information gaps about their disease. So, in addition to her duties as a nurse, Jemison also volunteers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and coordinates and runs an MPN support group on her day off.
