Carmi Fazio, RN, BSN, ONA, Molina Healthcare, discusses nurses’ role in end-of-life care.

While end-of-life care seems like a taboo subject that not many people want to deal with, it is very important and a field in which nurses can take the lead, advocate for and truly help their patients. For example, Fazio declared herself a DNR (do not resuscitate) patient in 2008 so that some of her patients may feel more comfortable issuing the decision for themselves.
