As a part of the National Cancer Moonshot Initiative, Deloitte Consulting launched the XPRIZE competition, where participants are encouraged to come up with health care innovation that is focused on early cancer detection.
The reason why early detection is so important, according to Meagher, is because many cancers are diagnosed and treated in the later stages. Finding ways to diagnose the disease earlier can have a huge impact on patient outcomes.
