Live, Love, Breathe

I am a seven-year survivor of non-small cell lung cancer which has progressed and is currently stage 4, metastatic and terminal. I’ve been painting and drawing as a hobby since I was about eight years old (I’m currently 69). This is a self portrait in mixed media (pastel, watercolor and colored pencil). In it I try to express my joy for the beauty of living and appreciation for each new day of life. This artwork was originally submitted for the CURE® 2021 Healing Through Hues Calendar Contest.
