After Cancer, You Will Fly Again
By Bonnie Annis
June 8th, 2016
I'm an avid photographer, so you can imagine my joy when I was able to capture this little Pine Warbler in flight. This little bird reminded me of how I felt when first diagnosed with breast cancer. I was devastated and felt so broken. I wanted to fly far away and escape. After having both breasts removed, my self-esteem plummeted. Now that treatment is over and I look at the photo again today, I am reminded that life has gone on and I have been able to recover. I'm getting stronger and stronger every day, and one day soon I'll fly again! No longer will I feel like a timid little broken bird. I'll soar.
