Len Lichtenfeld, M.D., Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the American Cancer Society answers the question, “What is the best anti-cancer diet?”

Lichtenfeld says that there may not be one “correct” answer for this question, as he has seen many patients go through recommended regimens, and is unsure of the impact they have had. What he does know, however, is that while there may not be a one-size-fits all diet for everyone, patients should look into components of their diet and lifestyle. The American Cancer Society recommends a well-balanced diet (preferably one that is plant-based), and includes aspects such as limiting alcohol intake, increasing fiber and maintaining a healthy body weight.
