While skin cancer can be curable, the disease can come with psychosocial effects, especially if treatment leaves scarring. In addition, completing treatment can be relieving; however, anxiety or stress around the cancer coming back is common. Or, for those who are living with the disease long-term, stress and uncertainty of the unknown can be overwhelming.

However, patients and caregivers are not alone. There are a variety of advocacy groups in the skin cancer space, and support groups are available for patients and caregivers alike.
