Navigating advanced metastatic cancer comes with so many different challenges — it can be difficult to be true to yourself. Others may expect you to be this way or that way, and I'm a notorious people-pleaser so every day it takes work to remind myself I'm in the driver's seat — not the cancer or other people. This mixed media piece is one of a group I've done when I'm "in costume, performing" and acutely aware of the difference between what I'm actually feeling and what I show to others.
