Girl With Scarf

I am a 29-year-old artist and art teacher who was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer this year. This piece was made using the iPad I had during my chemotherapy treatment. I was upset that one of the side effects of chemotherapy was hair loss because, as a young woman, I was very attached to my hair and how it looked. By making this digital painting I realized my own beauty even without my hair. Creating art eased the pain from side effects I felt from chemo and gave me something to look forward to!
