Throughout my diagnosis and treatment, I would daily begin the journey with a sketch in my sketchbook recording my feelings, concerns, joys, hopes, fears and determination to be a victor over Breast Cancer. In this sketch, completed following my chemo and radiation, I convey my feelings of being "the girl in the glass jar." My life is more private than the entire experience afforded me from the double mastectomy to radiation, etc. My life was wide open. Yet in this reveal, there is a bird of hope. It is the hope in my art then and now, that keeps me going.
