Thanks to better understanding of cancer biology, the outlook for advanced lung cancer is better than it has ever been.

The prognosis and outlook for patients with stage 4 lung cancer is improving, according to Mark Socinski, M.D., executive medical director at the AdventHealth in Miami.

Recent years have brought major expansions in the understanding of tumor biology, biomarkers and genetic mutations. This has led to more personalized treatment approaches that continue to extend the lives of people with the disease.
