CAR-T Cell Therapy: It's Astonishing

The time has finally come when researchers have found a way to harness the immune system and use it to fight blood cancers.

Jane N. Winter, M.D., professor of medicine (hematology and oncology) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, discusses the excitement surrounding CAR-T cell therapy for the treatment of blood cancers.

Winter is excited that, after generations, researchers have finally harnessed the immune system to treat hematologic malignancies. "When it works, it is astonishing," she said.
