The partnership will support the lung cancer community through outreach and education

CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CURE Media Group, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise dedicated to patients and survivors of cancer, expands the Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program with the addition of the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF), announced Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates, Inc., parent company of CURE Media Group.

“We are proud to join hands with ALCF, a foundation that was started by Bonnie J. Addario, a lung cancer advocacy pioneer,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr. “Through this collaboration we look forward to providing the latest information, stories and articles to patients.”

Established in 2006 by 14-year lung cancer survivor Bonnie J. Addario, ALCF is a patient-founded and patient-focused nonprofit organization devoted to eradicating lung cancer through research, early detection, education and treatment. The organization has raised more than $30 million for lung cancer research and programs including the Community Hospital Centers of Excellence program, which accelerates lung cancer detection and patient treatment and the Lung Cancer Registry, a place to gather and store detailed information, allowing researchers and clinicians to fight the disease. ALCF and its Lung Cancer Registry partners, the American Lung Association and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, supports novel research to turn lung cancer into a managed chronic disease.

“Lung cancer kills more people than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined, yet research funding is nearly non-existent due to the stigma that it is a smokers disease,” said Bonnie J. Addario. “We are thrilled to partner with CURE Media Group, which will amplify our work to extend and enhance the lives of patients and raise funds for research and programs to ensure lung cancer patients live longer, which is our goal.”

As part of this partnership, ALCF will be able to share valuable information through CURE® magazine, providing readers access to unprecedented content, including the latest research, interviews and educational articles for patients, medical professionals, survivors, caregivers and those impacted by lung cancer. The SAP program is designed to facilitate an open exchange of information among trusted peers, with a goal of improving patient care.
