Reach Out & Hope

Tips for patients and families looking to get help with basic tasks of daily living.

The needs of a person with cancer can be overwhelming and the options bewildering.

Some cancer treatment facilities offer support for patients and families trying to assess options for getting help with some of the basic tasks of daily living. Social workers, discharge planners, some health psychologists and patient navigators may be sources of information specific to the city or region in which you live.

If your treatment center is unable to assist you, here are some websites that may be able to help:

>www.newlifestyles.com>www.nci.nih.gov/cancertopics/coping/familyfriends>www.cancer.org and search for the office in your region.
