The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network’s (BCAN’s) strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a seventh consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This award puts BCAN in the top seven percent of all charities.

“Only 7% of the charities we evaluate have received at least seven consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network outperforms most other charities in America,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “This exceptional designation sets Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”

Since 2002, using objective analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. With more than 1.5 million American charities, Charity Navigator aims to accentuate the work of efficient and transparent organizations. The intent of its work is to provide donors with essential information to give them greater confidence in both the charitable decisions that they make and the nonprofit sector.

Andrea Maddox-Smith, CEO of BCAN, said “It’s important that our donors trust that we’re using their donations wisely to accomplish BCAN’s mission of supporting bladder cancer patients, advocating for greater public awareness and calling for increased funding for bladder cancer research. Our seventh consecutive 4-star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters our good governance and financial accountability.”
