The Unseen Woman
By Bonnie Annis

As a self-taught artist and a breast cancer survivor, it is important to me that others understand the devastating effects of breast cancer. One of the ways I can help convey that message is through my art. And this paining, I portray the unseen woman, the one who seems to fade into the woodwork. As she goes through diagnosis and treatment the world becomes chaotic and uncertain. Often others can’t see or understand how those things make her feel. And while she feels unseen, she continues to fight for her life. Against all odds, she pushes past the difficulties and creates her new normal, a different, more colorful world of reality.
