
The Crucible

The dictionary defines a crucible as a test of faith, patience or strength. For me, cancer became the crucible in which my faith, patience and strength were tested. Ten years after a diagnosis of tongue cancer and seven years since a diagnosis of breast cancer, I am alive and well and stronger than ever, especially mentally and spiritually. It may sound strange, but cancer was a gift that changed my life and made me a better person.
