Window to the Heavens
By DONALD TAYLOR
July 16th, 2019
"Window to the Heavens" is a painting of the interior of the cathedral at Melk Abbey in Austria. This magnificent structure is still a functioning abbey and the interior floors and walls are made with various colors and types of marble. The acoustics inside are absolutely amazing. Melk Abbey survived WW II intact and remains one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe! This painting is one of several that I painted from different views of the interior.
