Hamid suggests patients talk with their oncologist about providing them with a supportive medical team. Patients should also understand the expertise and knowledge of the staff treating them, which should help dampen fears.

Being well-educated on their diagnosis and knowing their oncologist will be their go-to resource for information and advice will help, especially when discussed at the initial visit.
