Crossroads

My “Crossroads” painting may seem like a weird dream, but being diagnosed with multiple myeloma was a nightmare! This painting portrays how I felt when I got that news. I was at a surreal intersection, facing a series of confusing emotions that pulled me in every direction. The bright-colored signs highlight the intensity of those feelings. The setting is the end of what looks like a normal day. Clouds are gathering. The car represents moving forward in spite of uncertainty. My best option is to continue following the road and see where it leads me. Maybe something good will happen farther down the highway? Of course, the future is unclear and it’s scary not knowing what lies ahead. But nobody knows. We’re all navigating our own unknowns.
